FCP Inaugural Luncheon

March 27th, 2025 • Phoenix, Arizona

A Shared Vision and Calling

In March 2025, the Fellowship of Christian Physicians (FCP) officially began with an inaugural luncheon held during the ACFAS Scientific Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. What started as a simple gathering quickly revealed something far more meaningful—a shared hunger among physicians for faith, fellowship, and authentic connection.

Hosted by founders Dr. Michael Lee, Dr. Alan Catanzariti, and Dr. Justin Fleming, the luncheon brought together physicians who desired to integrate their Christian faith more intentionally into their professional lives. While the event took place within one medical specialty, it became clear that this calling extends across the broader field of medicine.

The Fellowship of Christian Physicians was created to provide a space where doctors and surgeons can openly share, discuss, and live out their faith—encouraging one another in both vocation and calling. The response at this first gathering affirmed that many physicians are seeking meaningful, Christ-centered community.

Held on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 the luncheon was thoughtfully scheduled between conference sessions, allowing attendees to gather over a shared meal for conversation, reflection, and encouragement.

Mindset of a Servant

During the luncheon, Dr. Justin Fleming delivered a message titled “Mindset of a Servant,” challenging physicians to reconsider how success is defined in medicine and in life.

Drawing from Colossians 3:23–24, the message encouraged attendees to view their work—long hours, sacrifice, and service—as ultimately done for the Lord. Dr. Fleming addressed realities familiar to many physicians, including burnout, pressure, and the pursuit of balance, while pointing to a kingdom-first mindset marked by humility, obedience, and faithful service.

Rather than offering quick fixes, the message emphasized daily faithfulness—praying for patients, inviting God into everyday work, and leading with compassion and integrity.

The Beginning of a Growing Community

As the first official gathering of the Fellowship of Christian Physicians, the luncheon also invited participation and input, laying the foundation for what would become a growing national community. Attendees were encouraged to help shape the FCP as a platform for prayer, mentorship, fellowship, and faith-centered connection. What began in Phoenix has since grown beyond one gathering and one specialty. Today, the Fellowship of Christian Physicians continues to expand—bringing physicians together both in person and virtually—to live out their faith with purpose, conviction, and shared support.
